Thank you for an enjoyable stay. The accommodation was very comfortable and the TV much better than most holiday lets. We’d certainly come back here if we wanted a holiday in this area.
Your games hall is excellent – we enjoyed table tennis, snooker and table football, and used the pool for a morning dip.
Lovely accommodation, nice and warm, very quiet and peaceful.
Would definitely visit again with my dogs next time.
Attended a wedding and didn’t get to see the walks and countryside, so maybe next time?!
Stayed for 5 nights in Pheasant Walk and can safely say it was the cleanest cottage I’ve ever stayed in, dog friendly too.
The cottage was very comfortable with everything you can think of and needed there. A lovely lemon drizzle cake and milk to welcome you there plus a great dog pack, bowels, treats, blanket, towel, waste bags and a dog tag with the estate’s details on for use while you are there just in case your pooch decides to go walkies alone! It was all the little extras that made the cottage special too, new soap dispensers and touches in the kitchen.
Plenty of walking on the estate where you can you let your dog off lead. Situated a few minutes walk from the top of Wenlock Edge, didn’t move the car for a few days as plenty of walking nearby. Visited Carding Mill and Longmynd, great walking there and fantastic views.
Lots of walks I had researched before going but didn’t get round to so will definitely be going back for another visit sometime! The staff at the estate were very helpful.

We booked the Manor House for our golden wedding celebration with our immediate family. Nine of us arrived on Friday evening and left on Sunday morning.
We found a well equipped and spotlessly clean house with beautiful bed linen and towels. Our three grandchildren were able to have a room each with their own en suite, which was very popular.
We had a grocery order and had ordered a drop in supper. All had been delivered and packed away. The drop in supper was easy to cook and was delicious. For the Saturday night we had booked a private chef. Charlotte and her helper cooked and served us a fabulous meal and cleared up and washed all the crockery, so we didn’t even have to empty a dishwasher afterwards.
We had some good fun in the well equipped games room and there are some lovely walks round the estate.
All in all a fabulous weekend!
– S. Roberts
This is a little gem – the cleanliness and well-equipedness hit you as you walk in, then you see the view from the sitting room (and kitchen), then you see the cake, then you go in the bedroom, all perfect and ready for a great night’s sleep. We couldn’t work the broadband so the owner Nichola came straight over to show us where somebody had turned it off (duh)….
Walks direct from the door, with maps all ready for us. Then it got dark and an owl swooped out of a tree in front of the window. Drove into Shrewsbury for a meal at The Walrus (go there, it’s well worth the drive, brilliant food, locally sourced and also grown by the chefs themselves. Have 3 puddings because why wouldn’t you?). Fantastic quality deli in Church Stretton if you don’t feel like cooking, so you can buy food in the deli, stay in Woodpecker in the evening, drink wine, listen to the owl, look at the stars…..
Because it’s an estate and the owners have thought of everything and are close by but really unobtrusive, you feel private but cared-for. I’d live there. And you can burn off calories by striding around the Long Mynd pretending you’re a country type. It was sunny too, to top it all off…… Shame we had to leave.
– A.Ayton
Can’t recommend highly enough. Everything is top notch – absolutely everything. Curlew Cottage was a pleasure to stay in, the area is lovely, the games room is fab…
If you’ve not been before, go. that’s all I can say.
– S.Short
This was our second stay at Eaton Manor. Great Western Lodge was exactly as expected and as described. We loved our holiday.
The provision of a dog tag provided extra peace of mind and we were able to let our slightly over-excitable dog run free in the grassy field next to the lodge. Other doggy perks were an enclosed secure garden, a blanket, bowl and biscuits – and a warm water dog wash. There are fantastic walks on the estate and beyond.
We used the archery range most days too. There is a great games room; our snooker skills were somewhat lacking though. We didn’t use the swimming pool, although there were plenty of available times and it looked well kept.
We would definitely go back but we would probably try to pay the extra to be in one of the cottages nearer the archery range.
– J. Cotee
This is the second time we have booked the Manor House and as always it has provided excellent facilities for our annual Cousins Reunion weekend.
With 15 of us and 4 dogs we also booked the Great Western Lodge which provided very comfortable accommodation too.
We highly rate the Manor and Great Western for all the reasons stated above, and will be returning again for our future gatherings.
Many thanks to Eaton Manor and their excellent customer service.
– T. Bragg
A great place to chill out and relax.
Once again we found the facilities excellent and the staff very helpful. We spent some time in the well equipped games room.
We are already booked for our next visit so I think that says it all.
– D. Lovell
We stayed in Great Western Lodge for a few days whilst running a yoga retreat at Eaton Manor and it was perfect.
The bedrooms were fitted out perfectly, comfortable and a high standard. The living area was a great space and the kitchenette extremely well fitted out.
We will certainly come again!… and have no hesitation to recommend.
– B. Young
We booked Toad Hall & Curlew Cottage so all our family could stay together during the week of our wedding.
The quality of everything in both houses was excellent and we were all very impressed with how well equipped they were for things like: dish clothes, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, kitchen pots and pans, baking trays etc.. just all those little things that together make such a difference.
We also hosted an evening dinner at Toad Hall for 20 people and a large BBQ one day and the staff were super helpful – bringing in extra chairs and then removing them the next day too.
The online shopping order unpack was also great!
Would highly recommend if looking for somewhere to stay in this area!
– A & B Davis
We stayed a week in the Manor house. We wanted a family holiday that was stress free. What an amazing location. The accommodation really was beautiful. From the en-suite in every room to the gorgeous grounds.
We used the games room every day and swam in the pool. The owners were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
There was even a home made cake for us when we arrived.
This really was a special holiday. Many Thanks.
– K. Holloway
My family and I had a great time staying at Pendennis. The property was very comfortable and clean and included small but necessary items such as washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets (and not just one or two to “start you off”).
The kitchen is well stocked with all the items required for cooking at home, but equally there are good pubs places near by. We ate at the Green Dragon that catered for both gluten free and vegan diets in our family.
This was our first visit to Shropshire and it was too short!
Oh, and the games room is a great facility on site.
– A. Joshi
We’ve had a lovely stay here at Garden Cottage, all of the extra equipment really makes a difference.
The bottle of bubbly for our anniversary was a lovely surprise, the welcome pack of cake and milk etc very much appreciated.
The cottage and garden beautifully kept.
We took advantage of the find dining option which was delicious.
There is plenty to do in the area, including National Trust places, Ludlow, Ironbridge and Stokesay Castle.
A lovely holiday destination.
– H&D Richards
Well, we had a fabulous weekend here with my sister and family to celebrate her 80th birthday.
The 13 of us 2 houses and utlised the facilities provided; pool, games room, sports field.
Garden Cottage was perfect for the 3 ‘elders’ in our party!
It is beautiful and well appointed with everything we needed.
Thanks for having us!
– T&L, British Columbia, Canada
What a wonderful part of the country! We came as three generations and without exception, we all had a fantastic time.
We were able to play games in the picturesque garden (weather permitting), enjoyed the games room and had a daily swim and all three children were able to swim without aids by the time we left.
The scenery was amazing and I have never seen so many butterflies!
The cottage is perfect and the little extras like a bathroom and television to every room was a real bonus.
We enjoyed some of the local facilities including the farm shop at Ludlow and two local pubs – both with gardens.
I have found everyone I have spoken to very friendly and I can only imagine that living in such a beautiful place makes it hard to be miserable!!
Many thanks to you all.
– M. King
Thank you for a wonderful stay at pendennis. We were thrilled with the cake and wine on arrival and, as before, have been very impressed by the views and facilities this cottage has to offer.
The children have particularly enjoyed the swimming pool being so close and we all had a great rainy day of games at the Games Room.
Out trips to the surrounding areas, including Ludlow, Much Wenlock and Ironbridge, provided us with lovely walks, pretty parks and lots to do.
Further to our last stay, the improvements made to the bedrooms (with ensuite wet rooms) are incredible and ensured we all had our own space.
We really do love this cottage so thank you for our stay and for helping us to make some fantastic memories as a family.
– P. Edgar
Dear Nichola,
We want to thank you so much for all you and the rest of the Eaton Manor team did to make our stay in Woodpecker this week so enjoyable and comfortable.
You know already how much we like the cottage and its setting with all the beautiful views and you know we think the Eaton Manor team is first class. What reinforced our view was when we arrived we discovered new items even though the cottage previously was great. The new outdoor furniture, the new rocking chair which we used a lot, the new lamps and pictures in the bedroom, new table mats and coasters all demonstrate that you and your team are always looking forward and trying to find ways to enhance your visitors’ experience. Well done- we are so impressed with you all and what you achieve.
We also want to thank you for the lovely sunflowers and card for our wedding anniversary- they are both on display back at our home. It was so kind of your team to do that and it helped to make our anniversary special.
We want to thank you personally for taking time out to show us Toad Hall. We were so impressed with its facilities and will be in discussion with our children to see if we can arrange a stay next year.
We will definitely be back soon- it feels like a second home to us and perhaps that is the biggest compliment we can give Eaton Manor.
Many thanks and best wishes
– N & J Blamire-Brown
Great family holiday in the countryside.
Modern and spacious house in a beautiful location. Hosts are extremely welcoming and accommodating – giving us extra freezer space, dropping our parcels in to us, bringing us fans when needed and even jump starting our car when the battery died. The view is fabulous and there’s loads of space in the garden for the kids to play. If you want a real countryside holiday we couldn’t recommend a better place. The swimming pool is not luxurious but was great to jump in to on the really hot days.
– A. Stone
We used Curlew cottage as our base cottage for my retreat guests.
The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
We were blessed with lovely weather so was able to get out and about and use the outdoor spaces which was just lovely.
Thank you Eaton Manor for a lovely weekend.
– S. Roadway
A beautiful attached accommodation. There is one attached and a further close by accommodation to Pheasant. Neither of them were occupied at the time we were, so it was nice and quiet. Pheasant Walk was a beautiful place, everything you could need and quality excellent throughout. Car parking right beside your door. A very small patch of grass at front and a small gravelled fenced area at the back. We had a large dog and the size both inside and outside was sufficient for both of us and a large dog. Just across the road was a lovely uncut field with a cut through path for you to walk dog off lead which went down to a shallow river which you could walk across and do a round trip walk back to the cottage. Lots of lovely places to visit and in a good location to access things.
-G Parnham
A really lovely house finished to a high spec, that lends itself to family gatherings, all en suite bedrooms, an enormous lounge and huge dining table.
We chose Toad Hall based on reviews, in particular for accessibility. Having a mobility pack at no extra cost was a welcome extra.
Overall it was the attention to detail that made our stay extra special and the added services, for example having our online food shop received and put away before our arrival, what a treat!
Our four legged friend was also well catered for with complimentary biscuits and even a dog tag for the duration of her stay.
We hired Toad Hall for my parent’s 60th wedding anniversary and there was a mixture of ages from 84 down to 2 years.
The Hall was very large with good sized bedrooms and plenty of room for all of us to be together (had also hired another cottage to sleep us all).
There was nothing that we wanted that was not provided and cooking for 20 we did test the kitchen. We had ordered the groceries to be delivered and arrived to find it all put away for us but also a fantastic sponge cake tea and coffee and a pint of local milk.
Lots of information about what is available in site and as the weather was slightly damp the games room was well used. My 2 year old granddaughter especially loved all the toys provided and a very competitive snooker and pool completion between the older kids.
The staff were fantastic and when my Mum took a slight tumble could not have been more helpful.
All in all we had the most fantastic long weekend.
– L. Talbot
We had a wonderful stay in Woodpecker Way. It had everything we needed and we were especially impressed with the little extras that were included for our arrival. We loved having fresh milk in the fridge and a basket of complimentary goodies. The cleaning products provided to help with the fight against the spread of COVID 19 were well thought out and the communication before we arrived was exemplary.
The apartment itself was warm and cozy with all the equipment you could have wished for during your stay. We loved how big the bed was and couldn’t get enough of the beautiful countryside views from the patio doors.
Thank you for a truly relaxing 4 nights away – we will be back!
We stayed at Pheasant Walk for the first time, two weeks ago. We already knew the area, having stayed a couple of miles away just two years earlier. The location is great, lovely views, good walks locally, and within easy reach of Church Stretton, a lovely town with good shops. Eaton Manor is a good base for walking on Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge. Pheasant Walk is just right for 2 people, and is well equipped with kitchen essentials. When we needed to contact anyone in the office, we found everyone to be friendly and helpful. We hope to visit again one day.
Really enjoyed our time 3 days is never enough. Lovely area. The dogs loved being able to run around in the fields.
Another excellent stay at Eaton Manor. A spectacular location, super properties and first-class customer service.
This was about the sixth booking with Eaton Manor and we always enjoy it so much, that we’re heading back soon!
First time in this area.
Super cottage and location. Great amenities.
Really nice welcome from the Owners
Even the weather was good.
Will definitely use these cottages if we are returning to this area.
We were part of a party of 21 staying at Eaton Manor to celebrate a 50th birthday. We spent the majority of our time at the manor house but we were very impressed with Great Western Lodge, it was very clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend.
We booked a 4 night stay at short notice as my sister had already booked a week there already. The team at Eaton Manor we’re so helpful and the accommodation was lovely. The grounds are so pretty and the area is very quiet… Would love to go back again sometime.
Our visit to Eaton Manor Country Estate was during the second rise in Covid infections and we were greatly encouraged to feel that the accommodation would be safe by the thoughtful and meticulous attention that was given to preparing the property for guests. We were impressed that the swimming pool was open for use for pre-booked ‘family’ slots and were given very useful information about the area on the website and in correspondence.
We love Eaton Manor, peaceful, undisturbed …we know we will relax and enjoy. We had no worries about visiting during the current situation, everything is immaculate, safe and consideration given to excellent hygiene and safety standards. Our second time here Woodpecker Way is ideal for us as a couple with two dogs. They love the countryside and estate walks, Shropshire scenery is fantastic. The hospitality is excellent, owners paying attention to detail. We will certainly return again.
Without doubt Eaton Manor and Woodpecker Way is one of the best holiday properties we have stayed in. The attention to detail is first class. The owners are helpful without being intrusive and nothing is too much trouble. The location is great for walking and our dogs loved it here. We will certainly return.
We regularly holiday in self catering cottages and have become quite cynical about the token gifts provided by many self catering companies as a substitute for good service. At Eaton Manor the service went well above this. Yes we had gifts, well in excess of anything previously received, but we also had an anniversary card and a visit on the first evening to check we had everything we needed. When walking around the estate we received genuinely friendly waves from all staff and from other customers, it was contagious!
We stayed in the Manor House to meet up with family during a brief lockdown restriction window. We had travelled from various areas of England and Southern Scotland & found the location ideal. Other members of the family rented a close by property. Thanks to great weather were able to meet up outdoors for amazing safe walks and made very good use of the pool.
The Manor House was an ideal venue for the 80th birthday dinner on Saturday night which was catered for at the house by Oak Apple catering who did an excellent job!
Overall there were 21 of us staying at Eaton Manor in various accommodation to celebrate a 50th Birthday. The Manor House accommodated the majority of us and we were very impressed. The booking process was made so easy and the staff were helpful and responded straight away with any queries we had. The Manor House ad everything we needed and was all clean and ready to use. The little touches were lovely, such as, cake and wine on arrival and even a treat jar for the dogs. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is planning a family get together.
We had a great 4 nights over New Year at Eaton Manor . The accommodation is very good with ample facilities on had. A very well equipped kitchen and we stayed in and cooked every evening. The lounge was very relaxing and he dining room was great to sit around eating and chatting. We ranged in age from 23 – 62 and there were 10 of us in total. We all felt immediately at home and the bedrooms were very cosy – the en suite for every bedroom was brilliant.
Would highly recommend staying here. We found some great walks and there is plenty to do around the area to fill a full week- we have lots more to explore here !
We’ve just had a lovely family Christmas at The Manor House on the Eaton Manor Estate. It’s a beautiful property, full of character but with well-equipped and modern facilities – the perfect combination.
Every communication with the team at Eaton Manor from the date of booking to the day we left the property was handled efficiently and promptly, and everyone was very helpful and friendly.
The house was comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well maintained, and it suited our group very well. All the bedrooms have lovely ensuite bathrooms and a TV, the stunning dining room was the focal point of every day, and the cosy but amply furnished sitting room was a lovely place to gather at the end of the day. The wrap around gardens are also lovely (though the time of year meant we didn’t really use them). Perhaps a good reason to return in the warmer months!
All family now back home having had a wonderful week at Eaton Manor.
What more could we have asked for? The whole family – aged 2 years to 90 years had a marvellous time. We enjoyed the pool, the games room, country walks and the icing on the cake this year was planting an oak tree in celebration of our nonogenarian’s recent birthday.
As always the attention to detail is beyond compare. Our apologies for our gigantic shopping delivery – we do like to cook and we are catering for several dietary preferences!
The archery session was a great success – please pass on our thanks to Tom and his team. Everyone enjoyed it and the three little girls were so proud of their achievements.
We really appreciate everything that goes into making our stay so special – housekeeping, gardeners and all the behind the scenes people we perhaps don’t meet – you are all superstars!
All very sad to leave our home from home and there were many comments from the young ones about next time we come ………..
So glad we discovered Eaton Manor 12 years ago. Who knew that it would lead to so many return visits?
Toad hall, fitted our needs to a tee. We were blessed with good weather and were able to eat outdoors all the time. The situation of the property was ideal, we only left once to walk the Long Mynd, too many people there tho. Toad Hall was so peaceful, we enjoyed walks from the property, due to Covid the Play Barn was closed but badminton and table tennis had been set up in the long barn.
All in all we were so very pleased and so enjoyed our stay, very much hoping to visit again.
Nichola, John and her team were excellent, nothing was too much trouble.
We’ve been coming to Eaton Manor since it started up and have come back every year with various groups. This year was as good as ever. Toad Hall is a fantastic property for a large group, such a sociable living area and the accommodation is super comfy. See you next year!
We hired Toad Hall for my parent’s 60th wedding anniversary, there was a mixture of ages from 84 down to 2 years. The Hall was very large with good sized bedrooms and plenty of room for all of us to be together (had also hired another cottage to sleep us all).

The staff were fantastic and when my Mum took a slight tumble could not have been more helpful.
All in all we had the most fantastic long weekend.
Garden cottage was lovely; extremely clean and with nice touches. The large and beautiful garden was secure for the dog.
We decided at short notice to visit Shropshire at the end of lockdown and spent a wonderful week in Garden Cottage, which exceeded our expectations in every respect. Nichola and John made us extremely welcome and we were delighted to be the first guests after the re-opening and to have the whole of the beautiful Eaton Manor estate to ourselves. The cottage itself is extremely comfortable and well-appointed and the large garden is absolutely beautiful and perfect for outdoor dining. The estate is tucked away in a beautiful quiet corner of rural Shropshire at the foot of Wenlock Edge next to the lovely old St Edith’s Church, and there are numerous walks from the cottage along the little brook that runs through the estate, through the woods up to and along Wenlock Edge, and through the adjoining fields. Eaton Manor is a perfect haven to escape from the world for a while, to slow down and appreciate the rich wildlife and scenery of the surrounding area, and is a great base for exploring the Shropshire Hills.
Once again our winter break was just what we needed. The owners and staff are always very friendly and helpful. The cottage is extremely comfortable with everything available that you need. We have already booked our next stay.
We had a lovely stay in this cottage. The kitchen is better equipped than my own at home, it’s immaculate throughout and the decor is very tasteful. The garden is safe and secure which was perfect for our kids to run around and kick a ball in.
As we all live away from each other, in another country too, this was the ideal place for us to get together over Christmas.
We couldn’t have been made any more welcome. The cottage was lit up and cozy warm with everything laid out ready for afternoon tea, including homemade mince pies. My little 3 year old nephew had a Christmas present from Santa waiting there too!
It’s a beautiful cottage with absolutely everything you need to feel thoroughly at home. There are en-suites in each bedroom along with your own tv in each too. There was fresh milk and even a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge. The icing on the cake was that the cottage was decorated for Christmas with a beautiful big tree in the lounge.
I would definitely not hesitate to recommend this cottage and in fact the whole of the Eaton Manor Estate to anyone wanting a fabulous get away with family or friends.
The most lovely holiday cottage which felt home from home. Friendly atmosphere and John and Nicola attended to our needs. Everything was just perfect for us and our dogs. Plenty of places to visit. Nice peaceful walks. Didn’t use the sports hall or pool but will do on our next stay. The best place in our view to have a fabulous human and doggy holiday.
We had a lovely stay. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. Nicola was very helpful. We were able to use the archery range and other facilities easily despite the Covid restrictions. The site was very peaceful and near to lovely walks and interesting places to visit but don’t tell anyone, we would like to keep it for ourselves!
Very comfortable and well equipped cottage, lovely location, super swimming pool, helpful and friendly hosts. Couldn’t fault it! We had a fabulous week.
We very much enjoyed our week long Christmas holiday at ‘Great Western’. Upon arrival the property was fully prepared by the housekeeping team including a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the large lounge, mince pies and a bottle of wine! The rooms were fully made up with high quality bedding, all we had to do was unpack. ‘Great Western’ is a lovely property comfortably sleeping 6 adults and two children and with space for 10 to eat comfortably on Christmas & Boxing Day when nearby relatives came over. There is so much space at this property that nobody falls over themselves!
We attended two services by candle light in the village church which looked magnificent with its tree and decorations.
We cannot fault the service provided from start to finish. There is plenty to do on the estate and in the surrounding area. A return visit in summer is already being planned!
Thank you to all the staff at Eaton Manor Country Estate for a great Christmas.
We had such a lovely holiday in Eaton Manor. Great Western is spacious, light and airy and the all round views are stunning. A perfect place to relax and enjoy time catching up with family. The layout was perfect for our 2 families of 4 each. I particularly loved our bedroom suite, which has an extra lounge area. This was used as a tranquil spot to sit with a morning cuppa and for the kids to watch TV or play games later in the day. The owners have paid attention to every detail and we warmly welcomed by them on arrival. The house was spotless and we were reassured of the adherence to Covid safety guidance. The Estate and surrounding countryside are beautiful, perfect to enjoy the views from the house or to explore on a walk. There are pretty villages nearby that are fun to explore.
Very good layout for disabled person. Extra equipment supplied to help with showering. Very helpful in that Nichola collected a wheelchair for us from local shop. Swimming pool located at side of garden, great for kids. Badminton and table tennis in good location.
Pendennis Cottage is well suited to people with a disability. We had four full time and one partial wheelchair user. The long range archery centre proved an ideal training for head to head training of Para Archers and Able bodied archers.
We received a warm welcome on arrival and throughout our weekend stay from Nicola and her smiling team.
I look forward to out second weekend at the Manor in February 2020.
Really enjoyed our stay in Pendennis. The house was perfect and big enough for my husband and myself, our son and daughter and their families plus of course Dylan the dog, whose every need was catered for.
The kitchen was very well equipped, the bedrooms comfortable and the garden and views from the conservatory beautiful.
The grandchildren and their cousins enjoyed being able to use the swimming pool particularly in the hot weather we enjoyed. They also liked the freedom of being able to walk down the quiet road on their own to visit the sports hall. The adults in our group enjoyed the sports facilities including table tennis, pool and billiards and took advantage of using the facilities for archery, rounders and croquet.
It was a very pleasant stay all arranged by my husband’s sister and her husband to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
