fantastic autumn half term breaks
at eaton manor
This coming half term is the perfect time to experience all the delights that autumn has to offer before the chill of winter sets in, and our swimming pool will still be open!
Eaton Manor is the perfect choice with a wide variety of things to do on the estate to entertain everyone in your group, as well as some fantastic places to visit locally, including FREE entry to a great attraction (see below).
Fun things to do locally…
With October comes the fabulously fun time of Halloween!
Pumpkin picking at Claybrook Pumpkin Patch, Claybrook Farm
One of our local farms, Claybrook Farm, has a Pumpkin patch and will be open for pumpkin picking.
A great family outing, you can also carve your pumpkins and enjoy freshly baked cakes, sweet treats and snacks, together with hot drinks.
Claybrook Farm is about a 5 minute drive from Eaton Manor, or roughly a 45 minute walk along country lanes.
Spooky tales & a Halloween quest at Stokesay Castle
Stokesay Castle, the best-preserved fortified medieval manor house in England is hosting a Halloween event.
Grab your broomsticks and get ready for a bewitchingly brilliant day out. Gather round for tales from our spooky storytellers and solve creepy clues in our Halloween Quest.
Stokesay Castle is a beautiful English Heritage site and is a 20 minute drive from Eaton Manor.
FREE Entry to The British Ironworks Centre, near Oswestry
The British Ironwork Centre is a fantastic family day out with amazing metal sculptures on display.
Make the most of our FREE entry to the sculpture park, enjoy delicious food in the café. You can even hire scooters or a golf buggy to make your way around the park.
The British Ironworks Centre is a 45 minute drive from Eaton Manor. Ask us for your free tickets.
Go for a walk with the promise of a fresh milkshake (available all year round)!
Another of our local farms, Proper Good Dairy, has a chilled vending machine where you can buy fresh milkshakes.
This is where the fresh milk we provide in the cottages on your arrival is from, so you can also refill your glass milk bottle whilst you’re here too!
Proper Good Dairy is also about a 5 minute drive from Eaton Manor, or roughly a 45 minute walk along country lanes.
What could you enjoy at Eaton Manor this half term?

The games barn is also home to our large soft play area.

Go Wild Challenge
Our Go Wild Challenge is popular with our younger guests, and they get a prize!
Having taken inspiration from the National Trust’s ‘50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾’ we have compiled our own ‘Go Wild’ challenge with ‘25 things to do at Eaton Manor’!
Have-a-Go Archery
Our ‘have-a-go’ archery sessions are a great family activity.
Provided by a professional coach in our indoor archery range, including use of all the equipment you’ll need, our ‘have-a-go’ archery sessions are great fun for everyone.
The house facilities catered for everybody in our gathering from 6months to 70+yrs. The rooms were prepared exactly as we requested. The games barn and swimming pool were used extensively, with the games barn having equipment covering all ages from the very young e.g. soft play area, to adult.
Chef prepared food to enjoy…
Although our holiday cottages are self-catered, we have links with some first-class local food suppliers who can help make your stay at Eaton truly relaxing.
Rather than having to cook during your stay, you can indulge in delicious drop off suppers that you re-heat at your convenience.
If you have a special occasion to celebrate you could even have one of our chefs to come and cook for you in your holiday home – and they clear everything away afterwards as well for the ultimate treat!
Everything you’ll ever need
We pride ourselves in helping you organise your special event or celebration, be it a milestone birthday, reunion, anniversary or simply an excuse to get together with friends and family. There is so much to enjoy on the Estate as well as exciting activities and guest services - and if you have a particular activity in mind please let us know and we will try to source it locally for you.
