The Eaton Manor team love to read the guest book comments; here are a sample of some recent entries.

March 2020 – Relaxing Break – Garden Cottage
We’ve had a lovely, relaxing time here and will definitely be back. Recommended for the archery facilities, we taken advantage of the Fine Dining Catering on our first night. Smurf, our dog, has been very impressed by the variety and size of sticks lying around in the hedgerows. The cottage is perfect – we tried to find something that was missing (toaster/gravy boat!) but everything you could ever need is here! Even a yummy jar of dog biscuits! Beautiful surroundings, delicious food (so easy to follow the cooking instructions) and a gorgeous cottage. Just what we needed. Thank you.

February 2020 – Archery Break, Group with Disabilities – Pendennis

Eaton Manor is an ideal and great central location with good facilities for people with disabilities. Pendennis is ideal for accommodating groups. The archery centre is ideal for training archers from intermediate to master level. The owners and their supporting staff make every effort to ensure ones stay is the best possible. Thank you.

February 2020 – 70th Birthday Celebration – Curlew Cottage
Really comfortable cottage – what a great choice for my husband’s 70th! Outside caterers were brilliant and the food excellent! I’ve a feeling we’ll be back. Thanks, Laura, for all your help.

January 2020 – The Manor House
We have had a very enjoyable stay. The house was lovely and warm- the rooms very comfortable. We enjoyed lots of walks and had a great time playing snooker in the games room. Many thanks.

Dec 2019 – Friends Gathering – The Manor House
What a fantastic place! Came with 12 very good friends. The Manor House is fabulous, clean, homely and a lovely place to stay. Views are lovely, everything about this house is spot on.

October 2019 – Multi-Generation Family Celebration – Toad Hall

We hired Toad Hall for my parent’s 60th wedding anniversary and there was a mixture of ages from 84 down to 2 years. The Hall was very large with good sized bedrooms and plenty of room for all of us to be together (had also hired another cottage to sleep us all). There was nothing that we wanted that was not provided and cooking for 20 we did test the kitchen. We had ordered the groceries to be delivered and arrived to find it all put away for us but also a fantastic sponge cake tea and coffee and a pint of local milk. Lots of information about what is available in site and as the weather was slightly damp the games room was well used. My 2 year old granddaughter especially loved all the toys provided and a very competitive snooker and pool completion between the older kids.

The staff were fantastic and when my Mum took a slight tumble could not have been more helpful. All in all we had the most fantastic long weekend.

October 2019 – Family Gathering/Birthday – Toad Hall

A really lovely house finished to a high spec, that lends itself to large gatherings, all en suite bedrooms, an enormous lounge and huge dining table. We chose Toad Hall based on reviews, in particular for accessibility. Having a mobility pack at no extra cost was a welcome extra.

Overall it was the attention to detail that made our stay extra special and the added services, for example having our online food shop received and put away before our arrival, what a treat! Our four legged friend was also well catered for with complimentary biscuits and even a dog tag for the duration of her stay

August 2019 – Family Holiday – Great Western

Great family holiday in the countryside. Modern and spacious house in a beautiful location. Hosts are extremely welcoming and accommodating – giving us extra freezer space, dropping our parcels in to us, bringing us fans when needed and even jump starting our car when the battery died. The view is fabulous and there’s loads of space in the garden for the kids to play. If you want a real countryside holiday we couldn’t recommend a better place. The swimming pool is not luxurious but was great to jump in to on the really hot days.

August 2019 – Repeat Guests – Woodpecker Way

We want to thank you so much for all you and the rest of the Eaton Manor team did to make our stay in Woodpecker this week so enjoyable and comfortable. You know already how much we like the cottage and its setting with all the beautiful views and you know we think the Eaton Manor team is first class. What reinforced our view was when we arrived we discovered new items even though the cottage previously was great. The new outdoor furniture, the new rocking chair which we used a lot, the new lamps and pictures in the bedroom, new table mats and coasters all demonstrate that you and your team are always looking forward and trying to find ways to enhance your visitors’ experience. Well done- we are so impressed with you all and what you achieve. We also want to thank you for the lovely sunflowers and card for our wedding anniversary- they are both on display back at our home. It was so kind of your team to do that and it helped to make our anniversary special. We want to thank you personally for taking time out to show us Toad Hall. We were so impressed with its facilities and will be in discussion with our children to see if we can arrange a stay next year. We will definitely be back soon- it feels like a second home to us and perhaps that is the biggest compliment we can give Eaton Manor.

August 2019 – Family Stay – Pendennis

Thank you for a wonderful stay at pendennis. We were thrilled with the cake and wine on arrival and, as before, have been very impressed by the views and facilities this cottage has to offer. The children have particularly enjoyed the swimming pool being so close and we all had a great rainy day of games at the Games Room. Out trips to the surrounding areas, including Ludlow, Much Wenlock and Ironbridge, provided us with lovely walks, pretty parks and lots to do.

Further to our last stay, the improvements made to the bedrooms (with ensuite wet rooms) are incredible and ensured we all had our own space. We really do love this cottage so thank you for our stay and for helping us to make some fantastic memories as a family.

July 2019 – Family Holiday – The Manor House

We stayed a week in the Manor house. We wanted a family holiday that was stress free. What an amazing location. The accommodation really was beautiful. From the en-suite in every room to the gorgeous grounds. We used the games room every day and swam in the pool. The owners were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There was even a home made cake for us when we arrived. This really was a special holiday. Many Thanks.

July 2019 – Eight Night Stay – Garden Cottage

We’ve had a lovely stay here at Garden Cottage, all of the extra equipment really makes a difference. The bottle of bubbly for our anniversary was a lovely surprise, the welcome pack of cake and milk etc very much appreciated. The cottage and garden beautifully kept.We took advantage of the find dining option which was delicious. There is plenty to do in the area, including National Trust places, Ludlow, Ironbridge and Stokesay Castle. A lovely holiday destination.

July 2019 – Family Weekend Break – Pendennis

My family and I had a great time staying at Pendennis. The property was very comfortable and clean and included small but necessary items such as washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets (and not just one or two to “start you off”). The kitchen is well stocked with all the items required for cooking at home, but equally there are good pubs places near by. We ate at the Green Dragon that catered for both gluten free and vegan diets in our family. This was our first visit to Shropshire and it was too short! Oh, and the games room is a great facility on site.

May 2019 – Wedding Stay – Toad Hall

We booked Toad Hall & Curlew Cottage so all our family could stay together during the week of our wedding. The quality of everything in both houses was excellent and we were all very impressed with how well equipped they were for things like: dish clothes, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, kitchen pots and pans, baking trays etc.. just all those little things that together make such a difference. We also hosted an evening dinner at Toad Hall for 20 people and a large BBQ one day and the staff were super helpful – bringing in extra chairs and then removing them the next day too. The online shopping order unpack was also great! Would highly recommend if looking for somewhere to stay in this area!

May 2019 – Family Reunion – The Manor House

This is the second time we have booked the Manor House and as always it has provided excellent facilities for our annual Cousins Reunion weekend. With 15 of us and 4 dogs we also booked the Great Western Lodge which provided very comfortable accommodation too. We highly rate the Manor and Great Western for all the reasons stated above, and will be returning again for our future gatherings. Many thanks to Eaton Manor and their excellent customer service.

April 2019 – Archery Holiday – Great Western Lodge

This was our second stay at Eaton Manor. Great Western Lodge was exactly as expected and as described. We loved our holiday. The provision of a dog tag provided extra peace of mind and we were able to let our slightly over-excitable dog run free in the grassy field next to the lodge. Other doggy perks were an enclosed secure garden, a blanket, bowl and biscuits – and a warm water dog wash. There are fantastic walks on the estate and beyond. We used the archery range most days too. There is a great games room; our snooker skills were somewhat lacking though. We didn’t use the swimming pool, although there were plenty of available times and it looked well kept. We would definitely go back but we would probably try to pay the extra to be in one of the cottages nearer the archery range.

March 2019 – Weekend Break – Curlew Cottage

Can’t recommend highly enough. Everything is top notch – absolutely everything. Curlew Cottage was a pleasure to stay in, the area is lovely, the games room is fab… If you’ve not been before, go. that’s all I can say

March 2019 – Weekend Break – Woodpecker Way

This is a little gem – the cleanliness and well-equipedness hit you as you walk in, then you see the view from the sitting room (and kitchen), then you see the cake, then you go in the bedroom, all perfect and ready for a great night’s sleep. We couldn’t work the broadband so the owner Nichola came straight over to show us where somebody had turned it off (duh)…. Walks direct from the door, with maps all ready for us. Then it got dark and an owl swooped out of a tree in front of the window. Drove into Shrewsbury for a meal at The Walrus (go there, it’s well worth the drive, brilliant food, locally sourced and also grown by the chefs themselves. Have 3 puddings because why wouldn’t you?). Fantastic quality deli in Church Stretton if you don’t feel like cooking, so you can buy food in the deli, stay in Woodpecker in the evening, drink wine, listen to the owl, look at the stars….. Because it’s an estate and the owners have thought of everything and are close by but really unobtrusive, you feel private but cared-for. I’d live there. And you can burn off calories by striding around the Long Mynd pretending you’re a country type. It was sunny too, to top it all off…… Shame we had to leave.

February 2019 – Midweek Break – Pheasant Walk

Stayed for 5 nights in Pheasant Walk and can safely say it was the cleanest cottage I’ve ever stayed in, dog friendly too. The cottage was very comfortable with everything you can think of and needed there. A lovely lemon drizzle cake and milk to welcome you there plus a great dog pack, bowels, treats, blanket, towel, waste bags and a dog tag with the estate’s details on for use while you are there just in case your pooch decides to go walkies alone! It was all the little extras that made the cottage special too, new soap dispensers and touches in the kitchen. Plenty of walking on the estate where you can you let your dog off lead. Situated a few minutes walk from the top of Wenlock Edge, didn’t move the car for a few days as plenty of walking nearby. Visited Carding Mill and Longmynd, great walking there and fantastic views. Lots of walks I had researched before going but didn’t get round to so will definitely be going back for another visit sometime! The staff at the estate were very helpful.

January 2019 – Golden Wedding Celebration – The Manor House

We booked the Manor House for our golden wedding celebration with our immediate family. Nine of us arrived on Friday evening and left on Sunday morning. We found a well equipped and spotlessly clean house with beautiful bed linen and towels. Our three grandchildren were able to have a room each with their own en suite, which was very popular. We had a grocery order and had ordered a drop in supper. All had been delivered and packed away. The drop in supper was easy to cook and was delicious. For the Saturday night we had booked a private chef. Charlotte and her helper cooked and served us a fabulous meal and cleared up and washed all the crockery, so we didn’t even have to empty a dishwasher afterwards. We had some good fun in the well equipped games room and there are some lovely walks round the estate. All in all a fabulous weekend!

December 2018 – Wedding Weekend – Great Western Lodge

Lovely accommodation, nice and warm, very quiet and peaceful. Would definitely visit again with my dogs next time. Attended a wedding and didn’t get to see the walks and countryside, so maybe next time?!

October 2018 – Midweek Break – Great Western Lodge

Thank you for an enjoyable stay. The accommodation was very comfortable and the TV much better than most holiday lets. We’d certainly come back here if we wanted a holiday in this area. Your games hall is excellent – we enjoyed table tennis, snooker and table football, and used the pool for a morning dip.

September 2018 – Multi-Generation Family Stay – The Manor House

We found the house perfect, very well equipped in every way!! We had ages ranging from 10yrs to 87yrs and every one of us felt comfortable and happy. We always try to have a family get together every year as we all live distances from each other Glasgow – Staffordshire, Loughborough – Cheshire. So it is always a very special time for us all and Eaton Manor certainly made our time special. Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way. We would certainly like to come back.

August 2018 – 6th Visit – The Manor House

What can I say – our 6th visit so it must be good!

We’ve all had an amazing time, and as usual the customer service has been above and beyond! All the help we needed for our family from a stairgate for the one year old to a wheelchair for 89 year old grandfather.

Thank you to the Eaton Manor Team.

July 2018 – Ramblers’ Weekend Break – The Manor House

What a lovely place to stay. We stayed in the Manor House – 7 en-suite rooms which was great (and it’s not that often you find a place with all en-suite facilities). Everything in the house was superb and very well thought out.

Excellent information pack provided from local restaurants, local walks and other general information. Could not fault the cleanliness of the house which everybody had commented on and the lovely bed linen. The games room is great and lots of choice (we tried them all out!). The swimming pool although slightly away from the main house is a great addition, especially welcome in this hot weather.

Thank you to Nicky and her team (and for the lovely cake we had on our arrival – a nice treat).

We would definitely recommend Eaton Manor to family and friends and other fellow Ramblers. We hope to return again in the future.

July 2018 – Woodpecker Way

Amazing relaxing stay in a beautiful peaceful location. Deep in the countryside away from noise and light pollution you find the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful and quiet surroundings. The cottage was perfect in every way and the welcome milk and cake were a nice touch and very tasty.

Enjoyed beautiful walks and there were lots of extra facilities to choose from if you wished and lots to do within a short distance in this beautiful county.

Highly recommend, the perfect place to find yourself again. Thank you.

June 2018 – Toad Hall

A very special week for the Warrington family. Perfect place for a family reunion. Carding Mill Valley is lovely and a must. Great for children. We all hope to be back!

June 2018 – Great Western

The house is located deep in the beautiful Shropshire countryside with views to Wenlock Edge and across the expansive field behind the house and beyond. There are walks all around as well as the little swimming pool tucked away across a nearby field.

The house itself is modern, spacious with quality fittings and facilities – there were eight of us and it was fine. We really appreciated the internet food order that we had made being put away for us before we arrived – so good!

May 2018 – Hen Weekend – The Manor House

Wow! What a fantastic place.

Enjoyed a wonderful hen do. Everything was perfect – the house, the surroundings, the venue and even the sun shone for us! None of us wanted to leave.

The Charleston class was great and the catered food was excellent. Would highly recommend.

May 2018 – Family Get Together – Curlew Cottage & Garden Cottage

Thank you for sharing your lovely house and gardens and surrounding countryside.

Had a marvellous family get together in Curlew and Garden Cottages, with fabulous weather which augmented the great facilities. The grandchildren enjoyed the run of the gardens and the swimming pool and games room. The more enthusiastic adults enjoyed the walking on Wenlock edge.

May 2018 – Hen Weekend – Toad Hall

14 of us stayed for a lovely weekend celebrating Pam’s Hen Do. The weather was perfect and the cottage was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the in house meal cooked by an amazing chef, would recommend! Thank you for a great time!

April 2018 – Annual Gathering – The Manor House

Perfect venue for our annual cousins gathering. Great facilities and lots to do round-a-bout in the area. So good in fact, we’re looking to book again next year. See you in 2019!

April 2018 – Wedding Anniversary – Curlew Cottage

Lovely area and comfortable and well equipped accommodation. Grandsons loved Carding Mill Valley and Acton Scott Farm.

Thoroughly enjoyable family celebration of our wedding anniversary.

March 2018 – Garden Cottage

It’s our second visit to Eaton Manor but our first to Garden Cottage and we’ve had a lovely time! Getting snowed in was unexpected but we enjoyed seeing the beautiful countryside in a different light. The cottage is immaculately clean and the best equipped of anywhere we’ve stayed. It’s a real home from home (in fact – I wish our home were as clean!)

Our daughter is 6 months old and the baby equipment supplied is clean and very handy, as well as being in good repair.

The lemon cake upon arrival is a lovely touch and very tasty! We’re looking forward to our next visit and are planning to come in summer next time so that we can enjoy the lovely garden even more.

February 2018 – Pheasant Walk

Excellent 3 night stay; beautiful surroundings, fantastically well-equipped cottage and now we have to go back to the Big City. We’ll just have to come back…

January 2018 – Birthday Celebration – Garden Cottage

We came to celebrate my birthday and Garden Cottage has been a wonderful location for us to visit the area, locally and further afield. Housman’s restaurant in Church Stretton for lunch on Sunday was lovely.

The weather was quite cold but the cottage was toasty warm all the time.

What a luxury to get a meal delivered on our first night too.

Christmas 2017 – The Manor House

Our 4th stay on the estate and second time at the Manor House for our 3 generation family get together. The house was beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree and garlands, warm and welcoming. We enjoyed the carol service on Christmas Eve and a walk to the Plough Inn for a drink on Boxing day. The games room is always a hit with the children and we all enjoyed a badminton ‘tournament’. Nice to see a smattering of snow on the hills as it was Christmas.

December 2017 – Woodpecker Way

An ideal location and cottage. Every amenity you could want wonderfully quiet and we were lucky with the weather so our two dogs could spend time in the enclosed area. We also loved the open playing fields near the office. We very much hope to visit again next year. Thanks to all.

November 2017 – 50th Birthday Celebration – Pendennis

Had a fabulous weekend celebrating my 50th birthday. Lots of lovely touches, comfy beds. Drop off supper great value and quality. Chef Jane and her team made us an amazing meal. Everything was beautifully presented. We will definitely be back. Thank you

September 2017 – Garden Cottage

Fabulous cottage, cosy and everything in it you could wish for. Great location, especially with a dog, it was lovely to be able to go for a walk without having to get in the car. Shropshire is a beautiful county, we enjoyed the Severn Valley Railway, a couple of walks in Carding Mill Valley, a drive across the Long Mynd, a wander around Ludlow, Clun and Church Stretton and Ironbridge.

September 2017 – Family Gathering – Toad Hall

Fabulous family gathering venue. From the first email of enquiry, to booking, through our visit and post visit, communication was excellent.
The venue and its facilities were excellent, including provision of extras for our four young grandchildren and three dogs. The site is well cared for and the pool and games room were thoroughly enjoyed by all and proved to be useful for entertainment. The on-line shopping helped tremendously in the preparations for our week away too. A truly superb venue for a big family gathering. We will be doing it again.

September 2017 – Curlew Cottage

A very comfortable and extremely well equipped cottage, in a beautiful location. The free wheelchair loan was invaluable and we had great times in the games room. The Station Inn and The Green Dragon were good for pub food. Accessible days out with a manual wheelchair included: Wroxeter Roman Site; Chirk Castle; Attingham Park Estate; Wenlock Priory; Acton Scott (Mobility Scooter Hire) and Carding Mill Valley (has an accessible tearoom and shop but the paths are not suitable for a manual wheelchair).

We had a brilliant stay for 3 generations and would enthusiastically recommend it as a holiday destination.

July 2017 – Great Western

Outstanding Stay. Everything about Great Western and Eaton Manor was excellent. We had no complaints at all. Highly recommend.

June 2017 – Pheasant Walk

We were lucky to stay in Pheasant Walk for three weeks. No matter which kind of weather, windy, rainy or sunny, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. For those who love walking, there are lovely walks around Pheasant Walk as well as in the surrounding area. You might be lucky in enjoying lovely views from the top of the Long Mynd, especially in late evenings. Bird watching can be done at Venus Pool (South East of Shrewsbury) but there is also a bird hide in the area of Wenlock Edge. In addition there are several buildings/estates run by the National Trust which are worth a visit.

Due to the well equipped kitchen we did a lot of cooking, but we would also recommend The Station Inn in Marshbrook.

Thank you to Nichola and all her team at Eaton Manor for this lovely home from home.

May 2017 – Hen Weekend – The Manor House

We’ve just returned from an amazing weekend at Eaton Manor and wanted to say thank you to you and your team for everything, from the welcome packs (loved the cakes!) to sorting out the banquet hall for the life drawing we really couldn’t have asked for more.

The Manor House is beautiful and so well equipped and the location is stunning. All the hens said how gorgeous and perfect it was for the hen weekend and my sister loved it.

I’m sure some of us will be visiting again! Thank you.

February 2017 – Woodpecker Way

Our first stay at Eaton Manor staying in Woodpecker Way. Eaton Manor came highly recommended by our daughter who had stayed in Garden Cottage. We have loved it here and found the staff and cottage first class. We brought our dog with us and there were so many extras for him.

A visit to Ludlow is recommended, lovely town and very historical. Also Church Stretton is worth a visit, great antique shop/market and lovely coffee shop.

The walks are great, but we had rain so didn’t go as far as we would have liked to.

We will definitely be back.

November 2016 – Toad Hall & Curlew Cottage

We would just like to say a big THANK YOU for a most wonderful stay. You could not have done any more. The accommodation in both Toad Hall and Curlew Cottage was far beyond our expectations and certainly matched any good first class hotel we have stayed in. The entire premises was so clean and well maintained and you had thought of everything.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our 40th Wedding Anniversary celebrations go so smoothly.

We will be back and will certainly recommend your fantastic establishment.

October 2016 – Curlew Curlew

We were a family of three generations and two dogs celebrating a 60th birthday and stayed for the weekend beginning 30th September 2016. A text was sent from the first to arrive to those still en route which said “beautiful” and this was no exaggeration. All periphery items e.g. kitchen towel, toilet rolls, soap, tea/coffee/sugar and even a selection of herbs and spices were there in sufficient quantities for our needs. The cottage was spotlessly clean and all towels, linen and kitchen utensils and equipment were first class.

The enclosed garden was wonderful for the children and dogs to play and the weather was so kind we were able to have Sunday Lunch outside. The games room and other facilities were wonderful and enjoyed by all.

The setting and views are breath taking as well as the walks. We even managed to attend the Harvest Festival in the little church down the lane which was rather beautiful. Two of our group did go to the Wellbeing Centre and of course the swimming pool was a hit with the children.

Cathy and I loved it so much we are checking availability to stay in Garden Cottage next year (we had a little peep through the windows).

Thank you all at Eaton Manor for a wonderful time.

July/August 2016 – The Manor House

We have all enjoyed our stay at Eaton Manor very much for our family summer holiday of 3 generations.

Excellent facilities – home from home.

We ate out at The Green Dragon and The White House and can highly recommend both.

We also has Milly (the chef) come to cater one night which was fantastic and definitely worth doing. We booked archery too and our coach Tom was excellent. The games room is brilliant and we all loved using it.

The guys in the office were extremely helpful and responsive when we needed them.

We hope to return one day.

July 2016 – Pendennis

On behalf of my family I want to thank you and staff for an absolutely fantastic stay at Eaton Manor.  Our every need was catered for and all the lovely touches added.  Thank you for the cake and wine that was left on arrival, it was a lovely surprise.

All the children loved Eaton Manor, the games room and swimming pool especially. The accommodation at Pendennis was perfect for us all.  The garden was ideal for the children and our little dog.  We’ve all had a truly wonderful and memorable holiday.

Thanks again.

May 2016 – Garden Cottage

What a beautiful cottage and great facilities. We’ve had a really lovely holiday. The local walks are beautiful – thanks for the maps!

The warm welcome from everyone has been great and the personal touches, such as a welcoming cake, just add to the specialness.

Powis Castle was worthy of the journey into Wales, Shrewsbury is a beautiful town. Ludlow very quaint and Much Wenlock is just amazing; trapped in a time long ago.

The Bottle & Glass is an excellent place to eat and drink and The Green Dragon has rib-eye steak second to none!

Thank you for a brilliant holiday, we’ll be back!

Easter 2016 – Toad Hall

We spent the Easter Weekend 2016 here (4 nights, arriving Thursday late afternoon and leaving 2pm Easter Monday)

This was a family get together, with 5 adults and 4 children ages 7, 8 and 9 years.

The property was spacious and very well appointed with large private garden and patio area with outside furniture. It was ideal for a mix of ages – grandparents, parents and children and enough space not to be on top of each other.

We loved the fact that there were several walks directly from the property and others at a short distance away.

The children loved the games room (and the freedom to go along to it on their own!) and playing badminton in the high barn.

January 2016 – Birthday Celebration – Eaton Manor Country Estate

Eaton Manor is a fantastic venue. We used the Banqueting Room for a party for 50 people.

Everything was brilliant – from the day we booked the helpful staff couldn’t do enough, from sourcing caterers to a magician, to taking an itemised shopping list and putting every item in the place we needed it.

The accommodation is really lovely, all of our guests were really impressed, and it’s practical, so you don’t have to worry about damaging carpets/dirty shoes/a spillage – everything has been thought about.

We couldn’t have had a better weekend and wouldn’t have changed a thing!

Thanks all!
