Monday February 2009
Sonny Pennington, a 13 year old who lives locally visited guests staying at Eaton Manor over Christmas and entertained them with a selection of magic tricks.
The young magician went round each of the houses delighting guests with his magical talents. Although he didn’t charge for this, most of the guests very generously gave Sonny tips for his show; he then, very kindly donated 50% to the local church, which is raising money for a new church roof.
Sonny first became interested in magic after a trip to London , where, after seeing some magic tricks in Harrods’ toy department, he bought his first magic set. Back home in Shropshire, a member of the Shropshire Magical Society saw Sonny practising some of his tricks and spotted his great potential; Sonny is now a junior member of the Shropshire Magical Society and the Young Magician's Club in London.
We would like to thank all our guests who tipped Sonny, we are delighted that you enjoyed his magic, and the combined generosity of those tips and Sonny’s donation is greatly appreciate by the local community here at Eaton-under-Heywood.
