Thanks Nicky (dad too) for the break,
your friendly welcomes and the cake!
Once here so much to see and ponder,
views to savour, ways to wander,
off each day then back each night,
to Wenlock edge - a soothing sight,
Loved the Mynd - though not the drive,
can't believe we're still alive,
Craven Arms was quite a treat,
The Castle swept us off our feet,
Sunday church - a rousing text,
Church Stretton for the papers next,
And then a stroll, though not too far
Just down to where the owl's are,
Monday Shrewsbury, Ludlow too
And then Clee Hill, wow, what a view!
on Tuesday, Ironbridge (did the lot!)
met Griff Rhys - Jones and snapped a shot!
Much Wenlock Wednesday - much to see
And much enjoyed the Priory ,
The Wrekin next, no doubt sublime
for those with energy to climb
on Thursday Bridgnorth for the day
A good last place to end our stay
on Friday, home, but feeling glad -
I've briefly been "A Shropshire Lad" !!
