... with an unusual use for the oak table!
On the 16th November 1957 my wife and I were married. At 11am on 16th November 2007 our children arrived, told us to pack as we were "going somewhere". We had no prior knowledge of where, however arrived and were over the moon to find the haven of "Eaton Manor". We were further surprised when my brothers and sister from Kent, Essex and Yorkshire arrived.
We had what I can only describe as a fantastic weekend. Never getting to bed till 2.30am. I have only one complaint and that was the vast area of the four poster bed, I had difficulty in locating my wife and by the time I found her, had forgotten why I was looking for her. A great weekend with excellent service by Nichola and I would strongly reccomend to all to visit and stay.
A few highlights from the junior Patersons - scrambled eggs on the Aga, discovering the oak table had good slideability and could with a bit of a push result in 4.5 botttom spins (head of the family aged 78 mustered a mean 1.5 spins). Other memories, not so harmonious was the reminising of Scottish folk songs at 2am - perhaps a few drams too many? The stroll to Church to repent our sins or just to give thanks for a good family gathering that didn't end in tears!
A fine home feel and a warm welcome - thanks to Nichola for putting much thought and effort into making us feel at home.
